About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and passionate Sourcing Coordinator to support the Smiggle Product & Sourcing team!
Reporting to the Senior Product Developer, you will work within a Sourcing team to manage the product development process and ensure effective order and delivery of goods from concept to factory to stores. This role is a key interface between the product development team and suppliers.
This role is full time, located at our Support Office on St Kilda Rd, Melbourne.
Responsibilities
- Managing the production process against a critical time path to ensure key deadlines are met
- Negotiating with off-shore suppliers in line with target prices and dates, ensuring on time and on-cost delivery of quality product
- Sample management and sample approvals including pre-production and shipment samples
- Working with suppliers and key departments to ensure all stakeholders are informed of issues and priorities, especially with regards to the delivery process
- Working with Quality Assurance team to ensure all product quality and compliance requirements are met
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated previous experience in a Buying Assistant/Assistant Buyer role (minimum 1-2 years)
- Sourcing experience in a general merchandise or stationery environment is preferred and a good understanding of printing processes advantageous
- Experience in dealing and procuring directly with off-shore suppliers
- Strong cost negotiation skills and a great eye for detail
- The ability to build strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders
- Strong initiative, problem solving and communication skills (Mandarin and/or Cantonese speaking advantageous)
- Sound organisational skills with the ability to work at pace, multi task and prioritise in line with business objectives
- Technical knowledge and sound understanding of end to end production processes highly regarded
